Quick Guide: How to Troubleshoot Barcode Scanner Issues on Your Rabot Device

Updated over 5 months ago

Troubleshoot Barcode Scanner Issues

Step 1:
Confirm that the Barcode Scanner is not working on a different Rabot device

  1. disconnect barcode scanner (A), that is not working from the splitter

  2. connect barcode scanner to a different station and attempt to scan barcodes

  3. Record if barcode scanner works or not. If it works, retry the barcode scanner (A) at the station that had issues and record the behavior.

Step 2:
Confirm different Barcode Scanner (same make and model) does not work at the problem station

  1. disconnect a different barcode scanner (B) that is working from another Rabot station and connect it to the problematic station.

  2. Record if barcode scanner (B) is working at the station or not.

Troubleshoot Barcode Splitter Issues

Step 1 : Confirm connections are properly done.

for our newer model splitters, pc-b (2) connects to the packstation machine and pc-a (1) connects to the Rabot edge unit (3).

Step 2: Connect cables to different USB port on the edge unit

Connect the other end of the USB connected to pc-a(1) to a different USB port on the Edge Unit

If neither of these steps work, reach out to Rabot Assigned Account manager.
