Install Rabot Pack With A Table Mount

Hardware Components

Before starting any installation, ensure you have the following components at each Rabot Pack station:

Camera

Barcode Scanner

Honeywell 1900G-HD 2D Barcode Scanner (Optional)

Compute Unit

Rabot Computer Unit

Mount

  1. Type A | Table Mount

  2. Type B | Shelf Mount

Accessories

  • For cable management

    • Wire ties

    • Velcro cable bands

Installation Prerequisites

Before the day of install, make sure these are already available at the installation site. You may want to contact or connect us with your IT team in advance.

  • Internet Connection

  • Available Ethernet Port or WiFi Connection with strong speeds

  • Power source for the Rabot Edge PC

Wi-Fi Setup: Network SSID and password should be provided to Rabot before hardware shipment.

Hardware Installation: Type A | Table Mount

Follow these steps to install the hardware components of the Rabot Pack system:

  1. Mounting the Pole: Position the mounting pole on the back side of the pack station table and secure it by tightening the knob.

  2. Attaching the Edge Device and Barcode Splitter: Mount these components onto a bracket and place over the mounting pole, securing with a Phillips screwdriver.

  3. Adding the Extension and Arm Mounting Pole: Connect these pieces, ensuring the arm is straight and at a height that won't interfere with the operator.

  4. Installing the Camera: Slide the camera onto the end of the arm mounting pole, ensuring it faces down towards the packing station table.

  5. Testing Camera Orientation: Connect the camera to a PC and test the view with the Camera application.

Hardware Installation: Type B | Shelf Mount

  1. Mounting the C-Clamp: Identify the Packing area, locate a clear view to the table area from the mounting shelf. (this is usually the center of the packing station)

    1. Screw the camera to the C-Clamp 1/4 inch thread (tip: make sure to point the camera in the right direction in reference to the clamp and shelf)

    2. Attach the C-Clamp on the shelf make sure it is secure. Pull the cable along the safest (no strain or sign of impact to the cable) route and the shortest path to the Rabot Edge device.

      Optional: Testing Camera Orientation: Connect the camera to a PC and test the view with the Camera application.

Connection Details

See illustration below showing the correct configuration for connecting Rabot Pack hardware.

To connect to the Rabot Pack system, follow these steps:

  1. Powering the Edge Device: Check the blue LED to confirm it's on.

  2. Connecting the Camera and Network: Use a USB interface and an Ethernet cable respectively.

  3. Finalizing the Setup: Connect the barcode scanner to the female USB connector and the male USB to the main PC.

Register Rabot Pulse (Optional)

If you opt to use Rabot Pulse, download and install it from Rabot's website, then follow the registration instructions.

Station Naming Convention

Use the following format for naming stations: <state><warehouse number>-<station type>-<station number>, e.g., TX01-PACK-01.
